Our cameras’ image captures: CCTV systems monitor a variety of areas. They’re used as an aid to security, to help control and deter acts of crime, to prevent employee pilferage and to provide employee safety. In retail environments, CCTV cameras remain one of the most effective means of providing evidence, as well as being an effective deterrent to shoplifting, vandalism and robbery. In industrial and commercial applications, CCTV cameras are used to monitor areas that might be dangerous or inaccessible by other means. Cameras, digital and network recorders, monitors and related equipment are researched and recommended from a vast array of high-quality products. We offer a quality range of fire protection systems for life and property safety. Our range comprises fire hydrant systems, fire detection systems, addressable fire alarm systems, FM200 fire suppression systems, analogue fire alarm systems, commercial fire sprinklers, automatic fire suppression systems and fire extinguisher systems.

Fire hydrant system: A well-designed wet fire protection system (wet riser, hydrant and sprinkler systems) is the backbone of fire protection for modern buildings and is mandated by the local Fire Brigade, insurance authorities and other regulatory bodies. A typical building normally has two or more shafts, which travel from the lowest level of the building to its terrace. Such shafts are normally used to carry the piping for the wet-riser systems. Hydrant outlets are provided on every floor so that the entire floor area of the building is adequately covered. Outlets are provided in the form of double-outlet landing valves, apart from a canvas hose for the use of firefighting personnel in the event of fire. All wet-riser pipes remain charged with water at system pressure. The opening of a hydrant landing valve or hose reel on any floor reduces the pressure in the pipeline and starts the hydrant pump. Pump sets of suitable capacity are provided for this purpose. Because of the static pressure differential caused by the change in floor height, a multi-stage pump is employed so that different tappings can be taken from the output of the pump. Each of these tappings can be used to serve more than one floor. Pump sets should be fed with a reliable electric supply from a separate feeder, and it is therefore also desirable to have a stand-by diesel pump. Apart from the wet riser system, hydrant points should also be provided at strategic locations around the building at ground level. These ‘yard hydrants’ are of immense use in firefighting. Water must be made available through reservoirs in adequate quantities at convenient locations. Periodic drills should be conducted by opening the hydrant valves to ensure proper operation of the systems.

Fire sprinkler systems: We offer a quality range of sprinkler systems, which are considered the backbone of fire protection for modern buildings and are mandated by the local Fire Brigade, insurance authorities and other regulatory bodies. These commercial fire sprinkler systems are manufactured from quality-tested components. We also meet customised requirements for our clients’ benefit.

Conventional fire detection system: We offer a range of high-quality conventional fire detection systems. They are designed to give warning of the outbreak of fire and allow the necessary firefighting action to be taken before the situation gets out of control. Our fire detection systems are available in various shapes, sizes and models to suit the varied requirements of clients. Compliant with international standards, our range of fire detection systems and fire detectors is known for its excellent quality, dimensional accuracy and high efficiency.

FM200 fire suppression system: FM-200 fire suppressant stops fires fast. When you consider the potentially devastating environmental effects of an uncontrolled fire, it’s easy to see that an FM-200 system is an important part of an environmentally responsible fire suppression solution. FM-200 systems reach extinguishing levels in 10 seconds or less, stopping ordinary combustible, electrical and flammable liquid fires before they cause significant damage. When fire is extinguished this quickly, it means less damage, lower repair costs and an extra margin of safety for people. It also means less downtime and disruption of business.

Fire extinguishers: The fire extinguishers we supply are known for their efficiency and accuracy in firefighting. They are premium quality, manufactured from quality-tested components and available in various specifications and sizes. Our range comprises CO2, foam, dry powder and ABC dry powder fire extinguishers.

An access control system is operated close to a secured area’s control point, with an operating system that provides multiple operating modes. Access to a secured area is given by entering an identification code on the keypad, or by a proximity card read by the card reader. The user is granted access to the controlled area when the access requested corresponds to the level of access given to the identification presented. This is an innovative electronic security lock that combines secured entry with ease of use. The system can be used in remote locations to provide unattended access security, as well as whole-of-building access control in an office, factory or warehouse.

Stand-alone access control: These are keypad systems that are hardwired in. The keypad is mounted outside the door, and it controls an electric strike or magnetic lock. Stand-alone access control can be used with a proximity card that is programmed to be identified by the reader. Access can also be restricted to certain individuals by programming the reader to recognise only the specified codes on their proximity cards.

The intruder/burglar alarm system is a 24-hour monitoring service for total peace of mind. For both commercial and domestic use, it can be linked to a central monitoring station that will immediately notify a local police station should an alarm be activated. The alarm will activate even if an intruder cuts the phone line, something that intruders often think will disable the alarm system. The intruder alarm systems we install are high-quality systems that give home owners and office complexes the security they require, at a price they can afford.

A gate operator is a mechanical device used to open and close a gate, such as one at the end of a driveway. Automatic gate operators are designed for both swinging and sliding gates. They can be programmed to open and close with a wireless transmitter (remote) or a manual device. An electric fence system consists of electric wires carrying high-voltage electric pulses that give a non-lethal shock to an intruder. Tampering with the fence sets off an alarm. It can be installed as a stand-alone barrier or added to existing perimeter protection.

Comix Solutions sells, installs and maintains Centurion (SA) products: D5-Evo and Vector 2 gate operators, Sector (automatic traffic barrier) and Centiner (manual traffic barrier).

Our automatic gate openers are very easy and convenient to operate. A remote is usually used to open the gates, so you do not have to leave the house or get out of your car to open them. In addition, they come standard with battery back-up, so you’ll never be left outside in the event of a power failure.

ComixTrack® is a tracking and security solution for personal cars, such as organisational pool cars and those assigned to management staff. The solution protects vehicles against car snatching: the owner, or any other authorised person with the security codes, can shut down the vehicle using their own or any other handset anywhere in Nigeria and abroad. Using the Comix Solutions IT platform, the exact location of the vehicle can be found and the vehicle recovered for the owner in case of theft. Apart from vehicle security and theft prevention, the vehicle sends an array of reports to the owner’s mobile phone by SMS or on the web. These reports include:
